Soffits and Fascia

Soffits and fascia do not cover the whole exterior of the house, but they usually used to create an accent or give the house a finished look. In simple words, soffits are the long panel installed on the tail of rafter and fascia is the horizontal band under that. They prevent the rain from blowing into the house and also saves the house from pest or squirrel invasion.

Historically soffits and fascia used to be made of wood. But as time passed the material of preferences has changed. Nowadays people prefer to use vinyl or metal because of the ease of maintenance. These materials are also less expensive and easy to install than wooden options. The standard colour for vinyl is white but if the entire exterior is wooden then it is better to take a look at the cedar options.
